MANAGER (CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT) - AHMEDABAD
The Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC) is implementing a DST funded Project of "Promoting Innovative Clusters (PIC)" (www.innovativeclusters.org). Under this Project, FMC has chosen, among others, Ahmedabad pharmaceuticals and medical devices cluster and other nearby areas in Gujarat as a target area for promotion of innovation in SMEs.
The job involves identifying target SMEs and start-up, linking them with various technical and financial institutions and thereby developing the innovation eco-system of the cluster. This will require (a) regular interaction and communication with pharmaceutical firms, scientists and physician communities, related technical and financial institutions, (b) organise relevant workshops, training programmes and studies, (c) link the stakeholders with various support programmes and thereby (d) promote the innovative capacity of the cluster stakeholders.
Qualification Required: S/he should preferably have graduation/post-graduation in science/life science and 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably with SMEs. Experiences in working or training in cluster development will be an added advantage. S/he should have excellent written and oral communication skill, be computer savvy and have requisite typing skill. S/he should be willing to travel at least 7 to 10 days a month.

CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT AGENT - KAITHAL
Foundation for MSME (FMC) is doing developmental work for the Foundry cluster in Kaithal under various projects funded by its own funds, DST & GTZ etc. where in the main objectives are promoting innovations, Aggregate reporting, CSR and CDM.
The job involves(a) to assist the Project coordinator in achieving the target of aggregate report, CSR, CDM and all the aspects of DST project PIC in Kaithal (b) to undertake visits to MSME units which are foundry based firms, related R&D institutions, financial institutions, representative industry associations of enterprises and other stakeholders of the cluster for getting field level information for mapping the cluster(c) to influence the enterprises in adopting the clean and energy efficient technology in at least 100 units out of which 35 units adopt DBC(Divided Blast cupola) and other 65 adopt energy efficient practices(d) to influence the cluster and stimulate the formation of Foundry Industry Association and sensitize the enterprises towards common developmental activities(e)to prepare various reports and document information as per requirement of the project. These reports would be of routine nature (such as back to office reports for visits, monthly/bi- monthly/quarterly progress reports, workshop reports, action plans for future) and non-routine reports (e.g. analytical reports on specific themes and suggested way forward, preparation of specific publications as may be required etc(f)to coordinate conducting of workshops, seminars, exposure visits, group meetings among the foundry units, innovators, researchers, institutional representatives and other stakeholders in the cluster(g)yo help build networks among the enterprises and develop new linkages with various institutions for stimulating new group based activities with direct or indirect relationship with innovation stimulation, CDM and CSR(h)to help maintain accounts of all expenses and submitting of bills for submission to the head office as per the rules of the organization.
Qualification Required: (a) S/he should ideally be a science graduate, preferably with suitable experience of 3-10 years (senior persons can also apply) in the area of developmental works. A person with some PG qualification is a desirable qualification. (b) S/he should be passionate to undertake developmental work for the micro and small and medium enterprises with dedication and zeal. (c) S/he must possess strong oral and written communication skills, computer savvy for common software & adequate typing skills, should have Internet surfing skills since most of the communication will be through emails. (d) S/he should understand the practical business functioning of micro, small & medium enterprises. (e) S/he should be a self starter who is able to identify opportunities for achieving the project goals in the cluster and be able to convert those into actionable activities, should maintain good liaison with the relevant institutions within or outside the cluster, Must possess ability to sell his/her ideas, should be willing to work beyond conventional office timings. (f) S/he should be willing to extensively travel within the cluster using one’s own mode of transport and also outside whenever needed.
